Ponca City, OK – Winter Less Cold will be activated for the entirety of this week, ending Friday night. Weather conditions will be monitored to determine if activation will continue through the weekend.

Their dedication ensures that no one has to face the cold alone.” – Tara Tyler, Executive Director of Survivor Resource Network, who has been coordinating the effort alongside numerous community partners, including Attucks Community Alliance, United Way of North Central Oklahoma, Community Foundation of Kay County, Avenue of Hope, NERA, The Givers, and Noon Day Lions.
Shelter Details:
Location: Attucks Community Center (1001 South 12th Street)
Check-In: 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. (Doors will be locked after 8:00 p.m.)
Late Entry: Must reserve a space in advance by calling Survivor Resource Network’s 24-hour crisis line at (580) 762-2873.
Low-Barrier Access: No ID or background check required. Shelter is available for individuals experiencing homelessness or whose homes are unsafe due to structural or heating issues.
Pets: Allowed but must remain under owner control.
Check-Out: Guests must leave by 8:00 a.m., and NERA food bags will be available in the morning.
Daytime Warming Station: Avenue of Hope (1815 N. Union, Ponca City) will provide a space for those needing shelter during the day.
