Tonkawa Police Officers will be out on patrol to enforce the “Click-It or Ticket” campaign that will run from May 23, 2022, to June 05, 2022. We want our community’s citizens and visitors to have a safe Memorial Day Holiday. Tonkawa Police will join numerous Oklahoma Law Enforcement Agencies to crack down on seatbelt violations, during this time. Be Safe and Buckle Up… It’s the law!
There is a mentality in Oklahoma that seat belts aren’t important, but the data shows people who aren’t properly restrained have an increased risk of serious injury or death if involved in a crash. Oklahomans also need to know that our children are also just as important. They need to be properly restrained in an approved car seat, booster seat, or seatbelt no matter their position in the vehicle. Officers will be strictly enforcing all seatbelt and child restraint laws during the campaign.
