Tonkawa Grow Operation a Total Loss after Fire

Smoke filled the skies over Tonkawa yesterday and was visible for miles after the marijuana grow facility at 105 North Main in the downtown area caught fire.  According to KFOR, the facility been declared by officials to be a total loss.

The fire started just before 9:30 Thursday morning and crews worked into the afternoon to put it out. One firefighter is reported to have suffered minor injuries, was treated for first degree burns and was released from a local hospital.

Tonkawa Police Chief Nick Payne says that the origin of the fire has not yet been determined, and foul play is not suspected, but a full investigation is now underway.
