(STILLWATER, OK) – On Sunday, March 3, 2025, at 12:28 a.m., a Stillwater Police Department (SPD) officer was involved with a traffic stop at 711 N. Main when he overheard a nearby gunshot and observed a dark-colored Chevrolet Tahoe rapidly leaving the area. The officer called for additional assistance.
SPD officers were able to locate and stop the vehicle presumed to be associated with the gunshot, at 1100 E. Willham Drive, which led to detention of five individuals. The suspects were transported to the Stillwater Police Department for further investigation.
The driver, 22-year-old Noah Stoddard, was arrested on an unrelated charge. SPD detectives investigated the incident and identified 18-year-old Adan Pena Jr. of Ponca City as the shooting suspect. Pena fled prior to the vehicle stop.
The victim sustained a gunshot wound and was transported to Stillwater Medical Center before being airlifted to OU Medical Center, where he is in stable condition.
With assistance from the Ponca City Police Department, Pena was arrested on Monday, March 3, 2025. He faces pending charges in Ponca City and will later be transferred to the Payne County Sheriff’s Office on a charge of shooting with intent to kill.
We appreciate Ponca City Police Department for their assistance in this case.
