There’s that old saying that March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb. And this weekend shows that March could possibly come in like a lion. The National Weather Service is predicting significant snow across Oklahoma and Kansas Late Saturday going into Sunday. In fact, at the time of writing this article, a Winter Storm Watch is in effect for most of Central and Eastern Kansas that goes from Saturday Evening until Sunday. The watch in Kansas includes the entire I-35 and I-135 corridors, and most of the I-70 corridor. This also includes nearby counties such as Cowley, Sumner, Harper, Kingman, Butler, Chautauqua, Elk and Sedgwick Counties. Parts of Kansas from Wichita to Salina to Kansas City could see anywhere up to 3 to 6 inches of snow could fall. For Northern Oklahoma, areas from Alva to Ponca City and north could see 2 to 4 inches of snow. No watches are currently in effect for Northern Oklahoma at the time of writing this.
