The National Weather Service in Norman has placed Kay County and northern Oklahoma under a wind advisory for Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 1 a.m. early Wednesday.
Counties in the Wind Advisory include Grant, Kay, Garfield, Noble, Kingfisher, Logan-Payne, Washita, Caddo, Canadian, Oklahoma, Lincoln, Grady, McClain, Cleveland, Pottawatomie, Kiowa and Comanche.
West to northwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph are expected in areas across the northern, central, southern and southwest Oklahoma.
Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.
