The Oklahoma State Department of Health released their weekly epidemiology report on Wednesday, November 10.
Data shows that throughout the week of October 30-November 6, 4,652 new COVID-19 cases, 4,867 recoveries and 132 deaths were documented. Since early 2020, 36,749 individuals in the state have been hospitalized due to COVID. CDC COVID Data Tracker lists that 10,708 individuals have been tested in the last 7 days.
From November 2-8, 72,238 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were administered. This includes at least 17,526 rounds of one dose and 12,518 Oklahomans becoming fully vaccinated. As of November 10, 2,000,168 Oklahomans are fully vaccinated, 4,608,699 vaccine doses have been administered and 254,980 booster shots have been given.
For Kay County, 53.5% of the population has received at least one dose of the vaccine, which is a .5% increase compared to last week. The percentage of fully vaccinated individuals in the county is 45.7%, which is a .4% increase from last week. For fully vaccinated percentages for surrounding counties, Grant is at 46.5%, Garfield at 54.5%, Noble at 66.5%, Pawnee at 52.8% and Osage at 36.1%.
Between October 31 and November 6, 10,708 specimen were tested for COVID as 4,107 of those same specimen tested positive for the virus.
As of October 30, the amount of non-vaccinated people hospitalized in the last 30 days due to COVID is 971, the number of vaccinated people hospitalized is 225 and 57 partially vaccinated individuals.
The Delta variant has been the dominant form of COVID at Oklahoma’s with 6,685 cases since January. As for other variants since January, there have been 471 of the Alpha variant, 7 of the Beta variant, 35 of the Gamma variant, 2 of the Eta variant, 15 of the Iota variant, 1 of the Kappa variant, 47 of the Lambda variant and 15 of the Mu variant.
