The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 1,419 positive COVID-19 cases over the weekend. Oklahoma has seen an overall total of 53,165 COVID-19 cases with 8,030 cases active.
Kay County saw an increase with six new COVID-19 cases to put the overall total to 287 cases, 11 deaths and 240 recoveries. Out of the 36 active cases in Kay County, Ponca City has 27, Blackwell has five and Kaw City and Newkirk both have two.
As for new cases over the weekend in local counties, Payne County has 67, Garfield County has 46, Washington County has 11, Pawnee County has nine, Logan County has eight, Osage County has seven, Noble County has four and Grant County has three.
11 additional virus-related deaths were reported over the weekend. None of the deaths occurred in northern Oklahoma. Oklahoma’s death toll is now at 726.
OSDH reports that 992 more Oklahomans have recovered from COVID-19 since Friday, putting the statewide recovery total to 44,409. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.
