PONCA CITY – Ponca City Police Capt. Randy Tyner confirmed Friday that the 20-year-old male victim involved in a shooting last night in the 1200 block of N. Oak has died.
According to police logs, the male victim received a gunshot to the back of his head. He was then transported to the emergency room at Alliance Health Ponca City where he was pronounced dead. The name of the suspect was not released Police were later advised of a grey or white Jeep Cherokee that left at a high rate of speed after the shooting in an unknown direction. It was also mentioned in the log that a neighbor living in the same block of the shooting might have video evidence for police.
A search warrant has since been issued for assault with a deadly weapon.
