A personal injury collision occurred at approximately 11:26 p.m. Sunday evening on County Road 68th just east of Mehan Rd, 2 miles west and 1.5 north of Ripley in Payne County.
Dylan Alexander, 22, of Stillwater was driving a 2020 Dodge Challenger eastbound on 68th at an extreme high rate of speed. The vehicle went over a hill at 68th and Mehan, went airborne for approximately 100 feet, landed back on the roadway and departed the roadway to the right. The vehicle then went through a barb wire fence and rolled approximately 5 times coming to rest in the middle of a plowed field.
Alexander was sent by Air Evac to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. He was admitted in stable condition
with trunk internal injuries. His passenger, Madelaynie Sheets, 22, of Stillwater, was transported to Stillwater Medical Center where she was treated and released.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation. Both Alexander and Sheets were wearing seatbelts.
The accident was investigated by Trooper Long #541 of the Payne and Noble County Detachment of Troop K. Assisted by Payne County Sheriff Department, LifeNet, Stillwater Fire Department and Air Evac.
