On Wednesday morning at approximately 1:30 a.m., Sgt. Cameron Hurd of the Fort Oakland Police Department was on duty and noticed a strange vehicle driving around in the Tonkawa Tribal Village of Fort Oakland.
Sgt. Hurd observed the vehicle drive back by the dump grounds and shut its lights off. Knowing this to be suspicious activity given the early morning hours, Sgt. Hurd investigated to see what the occupants were doing. He found an adult male and an adult female by the dumpsters. During his investigation Sgt. Hurd was able to recover several containers of Marijuana, and several grams of Methamphetamine. Several weapons and a small amount of cash was also recovered. The two occupants were not local residents and had come from Oklahoma City. Both were arrested and are facing Federal and State drug charges. On top of the charges, a 2009 Cadillac is being filed on for forfeiture.
Fort Oakland Police Department stated on their Facebook page that if you bring drugs into the village and they will prosecute you to the limits of Federal, State and Tribal Law.
