Two new virus-related deaths for Kay County, 2,186 new COVID-19 cases statewide

The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 2,186 COVID-19 cases for Tuesday, Dec. 22. Oklahoma’s seen an overall total of 265,620 COVID-19 cases as 35,189 cases are active.

22 virus-related deaths were documented on Tuesday to put Oklahoma’s death toll to 2,240. Two of those were for Kay County, a male and a female in the 65 or older age group. One individual was from Ponca City, while the other was from Blackwell. Another virus-related death being a Garfield County male in the 36-49 age group.

Kay County has 22 new COVID-19 cases, putting the county at 2,858 cases, 30 deaths and 2,308 recoveries. There are 520 active COVID-19 cases for Kay County. As for new cases in Kay County communities, there are 17 for Ponca City, three for Blackwell and one each for Newkirk and Tonkawa.

Kaw City – 39 cases/1 death/32 recoveries

Braman – 12 cases/0 deaths/8 recoveries

 

As for new COVID-19 cases in local counties, there are 36 for Logan, 29 for Garfield, 22 for Osage, 15 for Washington, 12 for Noble, nine for Payne, seven for Grant and four for Pawnee.

OSDH is also reporting 3,519 recoveries for Monday, putting Oklahoma’s recovery total to 228,191. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.

As of Tuesday, Dec. 22, health officials report that there have been 2,251,217 negative test results, 15,404 total hospitalizations and 1,759 Oklahomans currently hospitalized due to COVID-19.

As of Friday, Dec. 18, 2,253 vaccine doses have been administered in Oklahoma, and the state has received 33,150 doses.
