The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 1,475 new COVID-19 cases for Tuesday, Oct. 20. Oklahoma’s seen an overall total of 109,548 COVID-19 cases as 14,659 cases are active.
Among the 18 new virus-related deaths reports Tuesday, one was a Kay County man in the 65 or older age group, and two were men from Garfield County also in the 65 or older age group. Oklahoma’s death toll is at 1,191.
Kay County also saw six new COVID-19 cases to put the total to 802 cases, 16 deaths and 708 recoveries. As for active cases in the county, there are 53 for Ponca City, nine each for Blackwell and Newkirk and six for Tonkawa.
As for new cases in local counties, there are 30 for Garfield, 25 for Logan, 11 for Osage, nine each for Payne and Washington, three for Pawnee and one for Grant.

OSDH is also reporting 1,331 new recoveries as Oklahoma’s recovery total is at 93,698. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.
Officials report that as of Tuesday, there have been 1,357,462 total negative specimen, 7,964 total hospitalizations and 821 patients are currently hospitalized.
