Three charged after stealing weapons and ammunition from Kay County resident

In the early morning hours of Sunday April 4, 2021, the Kay County Sheriff’s Office was called to an address in reference to a burglary in progress.

Deputies arrived and spoke with the home owner who stated that several firearms and over 1000 rounds of ammunition had been stolen. The home owner then stated the suspect had gotten away when the home owner confronted them prior to the deputy’s arrival. Several KSO deputies immediately started a search in the area for the suspect based on the limited description given. KSO investigators canvassed the area over the next few days. Through good work and persistence KSO and PCPD developed leads that took them to an address in Ponca City on Tuesday evening.

KSO and PCPD converged on a Ponca City apartment that ended with a search warrant and arrest of 3 Kay County residents staying in the apartment. The subjects, 2 male and 1 female are facing multiple charges either separately or together, which do include but are not limited to: Burglary 2, Possession of stolen property, Knowingly concealing stolen property, Possession of Illegal firearms, Possession of Firearm that has the serial number altered or destroyed, Possession of Firearms during the commission of Felony, Possession of CDS with intent to distribute, Illegal cultivation of marijuana, Maintaining a dwelling where CDS is kept or sold and Conspiracy to commit a felony. This investigation is still pending.
