36-year-old Brock Ryan Williams of Newkirk will appear for a status docket on Friday, Feb. 1 in the Kay County District Court for the first degree murder case of a Newkirk woman.
Williams is being charged in the July 21 murder of 53-year-old Michelle Jolynn Gentry. Gentry was found dead after the Newkirk police discovered multiple stab wounds on her body in her home in the 500 block of West 11th on Saturday, July 21. Wilkins was arrested by authorities on July 22 in Tonkawa at the home of Joseph Michael Reynolds. Reynolds told police that Wilkins’ shoes were wet with what appeared to be blood and that he showed up around 5 or 6 p.m. on July 21, appearing very upset and speaking in tongues. According to police reports, Reynolds said that Wilkins took a nap, then showered and placed his clothes in the washing machine. He also indicated to Reynolds that he had been in an altercation with someone else, stating he had to “beat down a guy hard.”
The Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation discovered bloody footprints on the carpet while searching Reynolds’ house. The footprints matched the size and tread pattern of the shoes Wilkins wore.
