As the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases continues to rise, SouthWind made the announcement on Tuesday that they will have a temporary closure on their locations at Newkirk, Braman and the Kanza. The Kanza Travel Plaza at Braman will remain open.
This is in response to follow the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and the State Department of Health. There are currently 17 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Oklahoma, two of which are in Kay County. SouthWind Casino is taking this precautionary to protect guests and associates.
All SouthWind Casino locations will evaluate re-opening on April 1.
Other casinos in the area are closely monitoring. Osage Casino will have a special meeting March 18 to discuss their plan.
