Following Tuesday’s election in Kay County, Jason Shanks has been re-elected as Kay County Commissioner District 2. Shanks won with a 74% to 26% margin over Chris DeBoard.
The Blackwell Journal-Tribune reports that in Braman, voters have approved both of the city’s ballot propositions. Proposition 1, which will raise the town’s sales tax rate by 1%, has passed with 59.72% of the vote. Proposition 2, which would expand the town’s Board of Trustees, passed with 61.97% of the vote.
