A federal sex offender was arrested in Kay County recently after telling police that he had sex with a minor.
KWTV in Oklahoma City reports that Phillip Erwin, 30, is being charged with 1st degree rape and harboring a runaway child. In the early morning hours of July 14, Erwin picked up the 15-year-old Del City child from her home and took her to Smith ‘s RV Park near Blackwell where he was staying.
According to court documents, the two met online at Fling.com where the two exchanged messages and planned to meet in person. Thanks to the ‘Find My iPhone’ app, the parents were able to track down their child. That’s when Del City Police reached out to the Kay County Sheriff’s Department.
Kay County Deputies found the two at the trailer park.
Erwin is a registered sex offender in the state of Texas for possession of child pornography.
