The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 765 new positive COVID-19 cases for Tuesday, Aug. 11. Oklahoma has seen 44,728 COVID-19 cases since early March, and 6,917 cases are active.
Kay County saw an increase with seven new COVID-19 cases, putting the county’s overall stats to 251 cases, 11 deaths and 206 recoveries. As for active cases in the county, Ponca City has 18, Blackwell with seven, Kaw City and Tonkawa both have four and Newkirk with three.
As for new cases in nearby counties, Garfield County saw the most with 32, Payne County has 14, Pawnee County with 11, Washington County has six, Osage County with five, Logan and Noble counties both have three and Grant County with one.
A total of 13 virus-related deaths were reported Tuesday. Three were identified in the past 24 hours, and none occurred in northern Oklahoma. The state’s death toll is at 618.
New data shows 815 more individuals have recovered from COVID-19, putting Oklahoma’s recovery total to 37,193. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.
As of August 7, 669,507 test results for Oklahoma have returned negative. There have been 3,760 total hospitalizations, and 530 people are currently hospitalized.
