Red Flag Warning in effect for northern Oklahoma

The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a Red Flag Warning for Woods, Alfalfa, Grant, Kay, Woodward, Major, Garfield, Noble, Blaine, Kingfisher, Caddo and Comanche counties in Oklahoma from Noon today until 7 p.m. this evening.

The National Weather Service in Tulsa also has a Red Flag Warning in effect for Osage and Pawnee counties from Noon today until 7 p.m. this evening.

South winds ranging from 15-25 mph are likely. Relative humidity will be as low as 14-20%. Temperatures will be in the upper 70s to low 80s.

Any fire that starts up will be difficult to contain.

A Red Flag Warning means that near-critical fire weather conditions are expected this afternoon. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures will contribute to extreme fire behavior.
