This year, the 4th Annual North Central Resource and Transition Fair will be held at Pioneer Technology Center (PTC) in conjunction with the PTC Preview Night. Both events are scheduled for Monday, February 10, 2020, 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Pioneer Technology is located at 2101 North Ash in Ponca City.

The Resource and Transition Fair provides information to students with disabilities and their families about services available in Kay County and Oklahoma. As students prepare to move from public school education to life after high school, they may need support while attending college, technical school, job coaching, day care, or possibly respite care. The purpose of the fair is to give parents/guardians information about these and other services that could support their child on his/her journey toward more independence.

There are close to 30 vendors scheduled to be available to give information and answer questions regarding services and resources. A special Pre-Conference Session for Educators will be presented by the Zarrow Foundation from 4:30-5:00. There will be three 30-minute breakout sessions offered to parents and guardians: Northeastern State University at 5:00, Zarrow Foundation at 5:30, and PreEmployment Transition Services at 6:00.

It is never too early to start planning for life after school. Parents/guardians of students in 8th grade and above are strongly encouraged to attend the fair to gather information on services that may be appropriate for their son/daughter.
