The Ponca City Public School District is reporting a bus accident involving a pedestrian, minor student that took place at approximately 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 2, 2021. The student sustained injuries and was transported by ambulance to Alliance Health of Ponca City and was life-flighted to another location.
The accident took place on Prentice Road on the east side of Ponca City. There were only a few students that had not been dropped-off still on the bus when the accident occurred. All parents were contacted and picked-up their children.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating the accident, and more information will be released when it becomes available.
Information about the student is not being released at this time and student injuries and condition are not known.
Counselors will be made available to assist with student and staff needs. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family.
