One Ponca City man is dead after his home went up in flames Friday night.

According to KFOR-TV, 31-year-old Matthew Nuttle was pulled out from the burning home after midnight on Friday. Nuttle leaves behind six children.

Nuttle was rushed to a nearby hospital, but unfortunately didn’t survive.

While it remains unknown as to what started the fire, report shows that Nuttle was suspected of drinking before he died.

Police told KFOR that they did respond to two domestic calls at the home just hours before the fire when his partner, Tenaya Whitestar, was there.

Whitestar was not home when the fire happened, but has since driven by the location which became covered in soot.

Whitestar told KFOR she got the phone call after putting their kids to sleep when she was a few miles away at her sister-in-law’s house.

The cause of death will be determined in the next 4 to 6 weeks.
