A fatality collision occurred at 3:43 p.m. Sunday along State Highway 33, 2 miles west of Drumright in Payne County.
Carolyn Wentzel, 69, of Perkins was driving a 2008 Chevy Cobalth westbound on State Highway 33 when she attempted to negotiate a curve to the right. For unknown reason, departed the roadway to the right, struck a culver causing the vehicle to go airborne, impact the ground and roll ½ time end over end, coming to rest on it’s roof.
Wentzel was sent to Hillcrest Hospital in Cushing where she was later pronounced dead.
