OSDH reports over 9,000 COVID-19 cases since Friday

The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 9,078 new COVID-19 cases over the weekend. Oklahoma has seen 260,838 COVID-19 cases as 35,752 cases are active.

There have also been 51 virus-related deaths documented since Friday, bringing Oklahoma’s death toll to 2,212. Kay County saw one new virus-related death since Friday. The individual appeared to be from Blackwell. There have also been three new virus-related deaths for Osage County, and one new death each for Payne and Logan.

Kay County also saw 153 new COVID-19 cases for Saturday and Sunday, putting the county at 2,788 COVID-19 cases, 28 virus-related deaths and 2,233 recoveries. For new cases in Kay County communities, there have been 108 for Ponca City, 20 for Newkirk, 15 for Blackwell, nine for Tonkawa and one each for Braman and Kaw City.

Kaw City – 37 cases/1 death/32 recoveries

Braman – 10 cases/0 deaths/8 recoveries

 

As for new cases in local counties since Friday, there are 166 for Garfield, 149 for Payne, 135 for Osage, 113 Washington, 83 for Logan, 53 each for Noble and Pawnee and 22 for Grant.

Noble County – 863 cases/5 deaths/693 recoveries

Grant County – 326 cases/5 deaths/254 recoveries

 

OSDH is also reporting 5,340 new recoveries since Friday, putting Oklahoma’s recovery total to 222,874. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.

As of Friday, health officials report that there have been 2,192,087 negative test results, 14,970 total hospitalizations and 1,733 Oklahomans currently hospitalized due to COVID-19.

Also, 2,253 vaccine doses have been administered in Oklahoma, and the state has received 33,150 doses.
