OSDH reports 9,863 COVID-19 cases, 87 deaths and 11,496 recoveries since Christmas Eve

The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 9,863 COVID-19 cases since Christmas Eve. Oklahoma has now seen 279,139 COVID-19 cases as 33,751 cases are active as of Sunday.

Since Christmas Eve, 87 new virus-related deaths have been documented. Oklahoma’s death toll is at 2,370 as of Sunday.

Kay County has seen 183 new COVID-19 cases since Thursday, putting the county’s overall stats to 3,125 COVID-19 cases, 30 virus-related deaths and 2,555 recoveries. Posted below is the latest data for Kay County communities.

Blackwell – 367 cases/6 deaths/299 recoveries

Newkirk – 267 cases/1 death/217 recoveries

Kaw City – 41 cases/1 death/34 recoveries

Braman – 13 cases/0 deaths/9 recoveries

 

As for new COVID-19 cases in local counties, there are 159 for Garfield, 133 for Payne, 116 for Osage, 115 for Logan, 97 for Washington, 42 for Pawnee, 34 for Noble and 19 for Grant.

Since Christmas Eve, OSDH has also reported 11,496 new recoveries, putting Oklahoma’s recovery total to 243,018 as of Sunday. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.

As of Thursday, Dec. 24, health officials report that there have been 2,314,672 negative test results, 16,289 total hospitalizations and 1,729 Oklahomans currently hospitalized due to COVID-19.

As of Friday, Dec. 18, 2,253 vaccine doses have been administered in Oklahoma, and the state has received 33,150 doses.
