OSDH reports 3,900 COVID-19 cases statewide for Friday, new virus-related deaths for Kay, Osage and Payne counties

The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 3,900 new positive COVID-19 cases for Friday, Dec. 11. Oklahoma’s seen 229,353 COVID-19 cases overall as 31,703 cases are active.

A total of 27 virus-related deaths were documented on Friday to put the statewide death toll to 2,007. Three of those deaths were local. A Kay County female from the Ponca City area in the 65 or older age group, an Osage County female in the 50-64 age group and a Payne County male in the 65 or older age group.

Kay County saw an increase with 53 new COVID-19 cases, putting the county to 2,288 COVID-19 cases, 27 deaths and 1,904 recoveries. For new cases in Kay County communities, there are 40 for Ponca City, seven for Newkirk, four for Blackwell, two for Tonkawa and one for Kaw City.

Ponca City – 1,688 cases/14 deaths/1,395 recoveries

Blackwell – 267 cases/4 deaths/214 recoveries

Newkirk – 196 cases/1 death/168 recoveries

Tonkawa – 150 cases/6 deaths/129 recoveries

Kaw City – 34 cases/1 death/32 recoveries

Braman – 8 cases/0 deaths/7 recoveries

 

For new cases in local counties, there are 63 for Payne, 43 for Garfield, 40 for Logan, 30 each for Osage and Washington, 19 for Noble, 13 for Pawnee and four for Grant.

Garfield County – 4,471 cases/37 deaths/3,942 recoveries

Washington County – 2,370 cases/51 deaths/2,052 recoveries

Kay County – 2,288 cases/27 deaths/1,907 recoveries

Logan County – 1,908 cases/5 deaths/1,545 recoveries

Pawnee County – 736 cases/9 deaths/607 recoveries

Noble County – 712 cases/4 deaths/559 recoveries

Grant County – 253 cases/5 deaths/214 recoveries

 

OSDH is also reporting 1,414 new recoveries on Friday to put Oklahoma’s recovery total to 195,643. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.

As of Friday, health officials report that there have been 2,091,366 negative test results, 13,969 total hospitalizations and 1,730 Oklahomans currently hospitalized due to COVID-19.
