OSDH reporting 2,240 new COVIID-19 cases over the weekend, 11,394 cases active

The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 2,240 new positive COVID-19 cases over the weekend of Sept. 19 and 20. A total of 1,003 new cases were reported for Sunday. Oklahoma has now seen an overall total of 76,807 COVID-19 cases as 11,394 cases are active.

Seven additional virus-related deaths have been reported in the state since Saturday, putting Oklahoma’s death toll to 946. None of the deaths occurred in northern Oklahoma.

Kay County has seen 18 new COVID-19 cases over the weekend, putting the stats to 500 cases, 13 deaths and 370 recoveries. Out of the active cases in Kay County, 84 are for Ponca City, 22 for Newkirk, four for Blackwell and Tonkawa and two for Kaw City.

As for new cases in local counties over the weekend, there are 76 for Payne County, 38 for Garfield County, 13 for Osage County, 10 each for Logan and Washington counties, six for Pawnee County, two for Grant County and one for Noble County.

Grant County – 39 cases/no deaths/30 recoveries

 

More data from OSDH over the weekend shows 1,332 new recoveries, putting Oklahoma’s recovery total to 64,467. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.

Officials report that as of Friday, 979,650 test results have returned negative. There have been 5,755 total hospitalizations as 516 people are currently hospitalized.
