The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 2,197 new positive COVID-19 cases as of 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 9. Oklahoma’s seen an overall total of 138,455 COVID-19 cases as 20,129 cases are active.
A reminder that the OSDH did not release new data on Sunday, so it’s unclear as to if the latest update is for Sunday, Monday or both.
A total of 6 virus-related deaths were reported to put Oklahoma’s death toll to 1,444. Out of the six reported was the 18th overall virus-related death for Kay County. The individual was a male in the 65 or older age group.
Kay County also saw 97 new COVID-19 cases, putting the county at 1,112 cases, 18 deaths and 887 recoveries. Out of the active cases in Kay County, there are 116 for Ponca City, 35 for Blackwell, 32 for Newkirk, 20 for Tonkawa, four for Kaw City and one for Braman. For new cases in local counties, there are 52 for Payne, 47 for Garfield, 20 for Washington, 14 each for Logan and Osage,five for Pawnee, four for Noble and three for Grant.

OSDH is also reporting 1,852 new recoveries putting Oklahoma’s recovery total to 116,882. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.
