One injured in accident south of Stillwater Monday morning

One person was involved in a personal injury collision that occurred at 1:50 a.m. Monday morning on South Perkins Road(US-177) near East 70th Street, approximately 4 miles south of Stillwater in Payne County.

Elizabeth J. Cook, 28, of Noble, Ok. was driving a 2021 Jeep Wrangler northbound on US-177 and departed the road to the right into a culvert. The vehicle rolled an unknown amount of times coming to rest on its wheels.

Cook was transported by LifeNet EMS to Stillwater Medical Center and then transferred to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. She was admitted in critical condition with head and trunk internal injuries.

According to the report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Cook was apparently in normal condition. Seatbelts were equipped and in use. However, while airbags were equipped, they did not deploy. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.

The accident was investigated by Trooper Martens #691 of Troop K. Assisted by Payne County Sherriff’s Department and LifeNet EMS.
