Oklahoma sees 970 new COVID-19 cases, 12 deaths and 1,033 recoveries for Wednesday

The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 970 new positive COVID-19 cases for Wednesday. Oklahoma has now seen an overall total of 72,284 COVID-19 cases as 10,334 cases are active.

OSDH is reporting an addition 12 virus-related deaths on Wednesday to put the state’s death toll at 924. None of the deaths are from northern Oklahoma counties.

Kay saw an increase on Wednesday with eight new COVID-19 cases. Kay County has now seen 459 cases, 13 deaths and 334 recoveries. As for the active cases for Kay County, there are 78 for Ponca City, 23 for Newkirk, four for Blackwell, three for Tonkawa and one for Kaw City. For new cases in local counties, there are 24 for Payne County, 19 for Garfield County, eight each for Osage and Washington counties, seven for Logan County, three for Grant County, two for Noble County and one for Pawnee County.

Noble County – 138 cases/2 deaths/113 recoveries

Grant County – 36 cases/no deaths/29 recoveries

 

There were more recoveries than cases reported Wednesday as 1,033 more individuals in Oklahoma have recovered from COVID-19. Oklahoma’s recovery total is at 61,026. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.

Officials report that as of Wednesday, 955,312 test results have returned negative. There have been 5,610 total hospitalizations as 528 people are currently hospitalized.
