The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 1,707 new positive COVID-19 cases for Thursday, Dec. 3. Oklahoma’s seen 204,048 COVID-19 cases overall as 28,043 cases are active. The amount of active cases today is 1,581 less than what it was on Wednesday.
A total of 24 virus-related deaths were documented Thursday to put Oklahoma’s death toll to 1,836. One female from Kay County in the 65 or older age group. Two in Payne county, a male and a female in the 65 or older group. One man from Washington County in the 65 or older group.
Kay County saw an increase with 26 new COVID-19 cases, putting the county at 1,970 cases, 26 deaths and 1,619 recoveries. As for the active cases in Kay County, there are 267 for Ponca City, 39 for Blackwell, 21 for Newkirk, 12 for Tonkawa, three for Kaw City and one for Braman.
For new cases in local counties, there are 47 for Payne, 30 for Osage, 15 for Pawnee, 13 for Washington, 11 for Noble, 10 for Logan and nine for Garfield.

OSDH is also reporting 3,264 recoveries on Thursday, nearly doubling the amount of new cases reported. Oklahoma’s seen 174,169 recoveries overall. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.
As of Thursday, there have been 1,957,441 negative test results, 12,773 hospitalizations and 1,743 people currently hospitalized.
