The Oklahoma State Department of Health on Wednesday reported that there’s been 1,082 new COVID-19 cases in the state since Tuesday.
OSDH reports that overall, Oklahoma’s seen 463,152 COVID-19 cases, 8,654 deaths and 27,275 hospitalizations since March 2020. At this time, there are 3,458 active COVID-19 cases in Oklahoma.
Kay County has seen an overall total of 5,366 COVID-19 cases, 128 deaths and 5,226 deaths since March 2020. There are currently 12 active COVID-19 cases, an increase of three since Monday. Below is data for Kay County communities.

According to OSDH, 3,330,922 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered. This includes 1,807,905 Oklahomans receiving the first dose, and 1,550,004 Oklahomans are fully vaccinated. All Oklahomans ages 12 and older can receive the vaccine. Learn more by going to vaccinate.oklahoma.gov.
Locally, 35.9 percent of Kay County residents are fully vaccinated. This is a .3% increase since July 7. Grant County’s fully vaccination rate is 35.9%, Osage is 24.8% and Noble is 51.3%.
According to CDC.Gov, A small percentage of people fully vaccinated against COVID-19 will still develop COVID-19 illness. COVID-19 vaccines are effective. However, a small percentage of people who are fully vaccinated will still get COVID-19 if they are exposed to the virus that causes it. These are called “vaccine breakthrough cases.”
