The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting an additional 43 new positive cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, bringing the state’s overall total of cases to 5,532 since testing started.
Locally, there are no changes for Kay, Garfield, Grant, Logan Noble, Payne and Pawnee counties. Osage County currently has nine active cases, while Kay County has two active cases. Data also shows that there are three active cases in the Ponca City area.
The latest information from OSDH shows that five additional deaths were documented to bring the death toll in the state to 299. All five deaths are believe to have happened between April 22-May 18.
- Two females in Oklahoma County, both in the age 65 or older group.
- A male and a female in Tulsa County, both in the 65 or older age group.
- A female in Cleveland County in the 65 or older age group.
There were more recoveries rather than new cases on Wednesday as 131 more Oklahomans have recovered from COVID-19. Oklahoma’s recovery total is now at 4,266.
According to health officials as of Wednesday, 138,458 test results returned negative, there have been 905 total hospitalizations and 209 patients are currently in hospitals.
