Newkirk Public Schools shared on their Facebook page that a student tested positive for COVID-19 over the weekend.
There are approximately 30 students and staff members contact traced and in quarantine as of today. All students and staff members that were affected have been contacted.
NPS reminds parents to complete the attendance questionnaire daily for each student before they arrive on school grounds.
If your child is showing symptoms listed on the attendance questionnaire please do not send them to school. Newkirk Public Schools will continue in classroom instruction at this time.
In other news from NPS, Newkirk will have a Virtual Day on Wednesday, Sept. 30. Students will not be on campus, but instead learning from home. Grab and go breakfast and lunches will be served from 9 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
