The City of Newkirk is scheduled to have a special public hearing on this upcoming Monday and the public is invited to attend and give any inputs on an upcoming bond for city repairs.
According to the Newkirk-Herald, the meeting is scheduled for 5:45 p.m. in the Newkirk Public Library meeting room. The regular city council meeting will convene at 6 p.m. The meeting is held in compliance with the Open Meeting Act. The City of Newkirk is applying for a $341,760 Community Development Block Grant through the Oklahoma Department pf Commerce, which will be used for the replacement of the Sixth Street sewer lift station, which is used to pump sewage throughout the community, and it’s believed that the replacement will not disrupt service to Newkirk residents.
