New COVID-19-related death reported for Kay County on Tuesday

The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 1,364 new positive COVID-19 cases for Tuesday, Oct. 6. Oklahoma’s seen an overall total of 93,346 COVID-19 cases as 13,061 cases are active.

Out of the 11 new virus-related deaths reported Tuesday, one of those was a Kay County female in the 50-64 age group. This makes the 15th virus-related death for Kay County, and 12th  for the Ponca City area. Oklahoma’s death toll is now at 1,066.

Kay County also has 22 new COVID-19 cases for Tuesday, putting the county’s overall numbers to 708 cases, 15 deaths and 553 recoveries. As for the active cases in the county, there are 117 for Ponca City, 14 for Newkirk, seven each for Blackwell and Tonkawa and six for Kaw City.

As for new cases in local counties, there are 66 for Garfield, 28 for Osage, 24 for Payne, 17 for Logan, eight for Washington, two for Pawnee and one for Noble.

Pawnee County – 266 cases/4 deaths/244 recoveries

Noble County – 162 cases/3 deaths/143 recoveries

Grant County – 55 cases/1 death/44 recoveries

 

OSDH is also reporting 1,064 new recoveries for Tuesday, putting Oklahoma’s recovery total to 79,219. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.

Officials report that as of Tuesday, 1,186,715 test results have returned negative. There have been 6,816 total hospitalizations as 699 people are currently hospitalized.
