Second attorney status reviews are scheduled in Kay County District Court for murder suspects Dustin Begs His Own, 41, and Shane William Gonzalez, 38, both of Ponca City.

Both are charged in the murder of 40-year-old Charles Star Warrior.

Begs His Own and Warrior reportedly got into a fight on the evening of Jan. 28. Warrior’s body was found the next day in the Chikaskia River by investigators and Begs His Own was arrested in Wichita, Kan. on Jan. 31.

Gonzalez was charged on Feb. 16 with second degree murder, concealing a crime or in the alternative accessory after the face and conspiracy to conceal a crime after an interview with investigators.

In the affidavit Deputy Sgt. Jason Bell reports that Gonzalez was interviewed on Jan. 29.

He reportedly told Bell that he learned of the fight between Warrior and Begs His Own the morning after and admitted to finding a red shoe in the backyard and placing it in the trash.

Bell reportedly reviewed surveillance footage from the area which reportedly shows Gonzalez getting out of Begs His Own’s vehicle during the time frame after the fight.

On Feb. 10, Bell and Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation Chad Van Hoesen interviewed Gonzalez at the sheriff’s department.

There, Gonzalez reportedly admitted that Begs His Own woke him up and asked him to drive his vehicle around to the back yard at 17 Tosque Drive, where the fight occurred.

Gonzalez reportedly stated Begs His own, opened the rear hatch and placed Warrior in the rear of the vehicle. He then told Gonzalez to drive to the old Chikaskia River Bridge located on Riverview Road and stop.

Once on the bridge, Begs His Own reportedly got out and unloaded Warrior.

Gonzalez reportedly told investigators that he did not get out of the car and never touched Warrior.

Gonzalez is being held in the county jail on $500,000 bond and Begs His Own on $1 million bond. Both are set for court dates on March 11.
