On Friday evening at 7:29 p.m., the Osage County Sheriff’s Office was notified by Cleveland police department that they had initiated a pursuit with a motorcycle at 7:25 p.m. in their city.
They advised that the motorcycle was speeding through a construction zone. During their pursuit of the motorcycle they reached speeds up to 160 mph. Cleveland PD terminated their pursuit in Hominy at 7:31 p.m.. At 8:00 p.m., Osage County Sheriff’s deputy began pursuing the same motorcycle north of Fairfax on State Highway 18. At that time, the motorcycle was reaching speeds up to 120 mph.
The deputy lost sight of the motorcycle and continued on looking. At 8:12 p.m., a park ranger with the Corp of engineers advised he had visual of the motorcycle at U.S. Highway 60 and Lake Road. The driver of the motorcycle was enticing the park ranger to initiate pursuit by riding a wheelie and speeding off. Due to engine failure, the park ranger, along with one of the Osage County Sheriff’s deputies, were able to catch up at 8:15 p.m. After the subject was in custody, a backpack was located containing approximately 2.2 lbs of methamphetamine.
This subject was identified as a Christopher Confer and is currently in the Osage County Jail.
