The Ponca City chapter of the Vietnam Veterans of America invited the editors of the 2020 Cat Tale yearbook to their November meeting where the chapter presented a donation to the Ponca City High School yearbook program. Under the direction of VVA member Jon Kolb, the local chapter raised money to purchase 2020 yearbooks, which had to be completed and published last spring during the statewide shutdown. While the Cat Tale staff raced to finish the yearbook in quarantine, book and ad sales were negatively affected, and many students were unable to purchase books.
Kolb, who served on his own high school yearbook staff, learned about the struggles Covid -19 had caused for the yearbook program and the Class of 2020 and decided to step up and help. Thanks to the work of Kolb and the VVA, many Po-Hi seniors will be able to get their 2020 yearbook.
