Evans and Associates Construction Company, Inc. has entered a contract with the City of Ponca City to complete paving improvements upon Knight Avenue from 14th Street west 1,200 feet and upon Fifth Street from Prospect Avenue north 1,576 feet. The first phase of the project is scheduled to begin on Monday, March 16, 2020.
Phase 1
The first phase of the project is for full depth concrete reconstruction of the first 250 feet of Knight Avenue west of 14th Street. This phase also includes the repair of damaged sidewalks and wheelchair ramps along the north side of Knight Avenue. The phase 1 work will take approximately 30 calendar days to complete. During this phase, the entire 250 feet section of Knight Avenue will be closed to all traffic.
Phase 2
Upon completion of Phase 1, work will begin to complete the asphalt mill and overlay of the remaining 950 feet of Knight Avenue as well as the mill and overlay of 5th Street from Prospect Avenue to the north 1,576 feet. This portion of the project will take approximately 30 calendar days as well. Knight Avenue and 5th Street will be open to ‘local traffic only’ during the Phase 2 mill and overlay process
