The Kay County Sheriff’s Office reports that they have received a few phone calls from the past two weeks or so from citizens receiving phone calls from subjects claiming to be soliciting donations for the Kay County Sheriff’s Office. The Kay County Sheriff’s Office wants to remind people that these are scams and that the sheriff’s office DOES NOT solicit for any donations, nor will they contact you by phone and request payment for outstanding warrants.
The Kay County Sheriff’s Office also wants to remind people to never give personal or banking information to anyone over the phone that you are not familiar with.
