The Kay County Sheriff’s Office is reporting on social media that they have received a few calls on Monday about citizens receiving letters in the mail from the Kay County Sheriff’s office in regards to outstanding charges and large fines or being jailed if the charges are not taken care of.

The sheriff’s office shared a reminder to not send money or give your personal information away. This appears to be a scam due to the fact the the sheriff’s office doesn’t send out notices on charges and or fines.

Please feel free to call (580)362-3250 and verify or confirm that your letter is a scam if you have gotten one.
