COVID-19 UPDATE: The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 1,401 new positive COVID-19 cases for Monday, July 27. Oklahoma has now seen 32,686 cases since the pandemic began, and 7,434 cases are active.
Kay County saw an increase with seven new COVID-19 cases, putting the county at 188 cases, 9 deaths and 143 recoveries. Out of the 36 cases that are active, 31 are in Ponca City, Blackwell has four and Tonkawa has one.
For new cases in nearby counties, Osage County had the most new cases in the area with 21, Garfield County with 11, Payne County has eight, three for Logan County and Grant and Noble counties both with one.
For the second day in a row, no virus-related deaths were reported for Oklahoma as the state’s death toll remains at 496.
New data shows that 554 more individuals in Oklahoma have recovered from COVID-19, putting the state’s recovery total at 25,252.
Health officials report that as of Friday, their have been up to 535,628 negative test results. There have been 2,872 total hospitalizations, and 625 people are currently hospitalized.
