Kay County sees 19 new COVID-19 cases, OSDH reporting 869 new cases and no new deaths for Monday

The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 869 new positive COVID-19 cases for Monday, Sept. 14. Oklahoma has seen an overall total of 70,223 COVID-19 cases as 10,311 of those cases are active.

OSDH is reporting no new virus-related deaths for Monday as Oklahoma’s death toll remains at 905.

Kay County saw a jump Monday with 19 new COVID-19 cases. This puts Kay County at 442 cases, 13 deaths and 319 recoveries. As for the active cases in the county, 75 are in Ponca City, 21 in Newkirk, seven in Blackwell, five in Tonkawa and one in Kaw City. You can click here to see a summary for communities across Oklahoma.

As for new cases in surrounding counties, there are 40 for Payne County, 18 for Garfield County, four for Logan County, three each for Osage and Washington counties and two for Noble County.

New data also shows 447 new recoveries for Oklahoma on Monday, putting the overall recovery total to 59,007. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.

Officials report that as of Friday, 907,109 test results have returned negative. There have been 5,369 total hospitalizations as 509 people are currently hospitalized.
