Newkirk, OK has recently been chosen as a site for the Kay County Health Department’s “Public Health on the Go” outreach initiative.
The Oklahoma State Department of Health recently mobilized a fleet of wellness units and vans to help provide “gap” public health services in every corner of the county and state but are not intended to serve as a medical home for individuals. The mobile unit will serve as an effective way of reaching people where they live, work, and play. Services presently available on the mobile unit in Kay County include: COVID-19 vaccinations, minor adult and child sick visits, school physicals, wellness visits (very limited labs available at this time), and referrals to other resources and services available through the Kay County Health Department.
The Kay County Health Department’s “Public Health on the Go” mobile unit will be located at 107 W. 7th on Monday, August 23rd. Mobile clinic hours will be 9:00 AM – Noon and 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM. Appointments can be made by calling the Kay County Health Department at 580-762-1641. Services will also be available on a walk-in basis.
