The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting a big spike in COVID-19 cases on Friday as 222 more Oklahomans have tested positive for the virus.
Oklahoma has seen a total of 7,848 COVID-19 cases with 1,457 active cases.
Locally, Kay Noble and Pawnee counties both have one new COVID-19 case. Payne County took a big jump with 12 new COVID-19 cases, and Garfield County also took a jump with 14 new positive cases. Local county results are posted below.
- Osage County- 104 cases overall/8 deaths/90 recoveries
- Kay County – 65 cases overall/7 deaths/49 recoveries
- Payne County – 72 cases overall/1 death/45 recoveries
- Pawnee County – 36 cases overall/2 deaths/33 recoveries
- Garfield County – 45 cases overall/1 death/26 recoveries
- Logan County – 22 cases overall/1 death/19 recoveries
- Noble County – 8 cases overall/no deaths/7 recoveries
- Grant County – 2 cases overall/no deaths/2 recoveries
Two more virus-related deaths occurred between June 1 and June 10 in Oklahoma with the state’s death toll now at 359.
- A Muskogee County man in the 65 or older age group.
- A Comanche County man in the 65 or older age group.
Good news is that 128 more Oklahomans have recovered from COVID-19, putting Oklahoma’s recovery total to 6,391.
As of Friday, 238,366 tests have returned negative, including state labs and private labs.
