The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 357 new positive COVID-19 cases on Monday, Aug. 24. Oklahoma has seen an overall total of 53,522 COVID-19 cases, and 8,132 cases are active.
Kay County saw one new COVID-19 case to put the overall total to 288 cases, 11 deaths and 241 recoveries. Out of the 36 active cases in Kay County, 27 are in Ponca City, five in Blackwell and two in both Kaw City and Newkirk.
As for new cases in local counties, There are 21 for Payne County, 16 for Garfield County, four for both Osage and Washington counties and two for both Noble and Pawnee counties. County stats are listed at the bottom of the article.
Four more virus-related deaths were reported Monday, and none of the deaths were identified in the last 24 hours. This puts Oklahoma’s death toll to 730.
- An Oklahoma County female in the 65 or older age group.
- A Rogers County male in the 65 or older group.
- A Sequoyah County female in the 65 or older age group.
- A Tulsa County female in the 50-64 age group.
OSDH reports that 251 more Oklahomans have recovered from COVID-19 as of Monday, putting the statewide recovery total to 44,660. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.
