High schools across northern Oklahoma are getting underway with high school football, and local schools will be having scrimmages today.

While the Ponca City Wildcats will not be having its originally planned scrimmage with Stillwater, Ponca City will have a “Mock-up Game” tonight at 7 p.m. at Sullins Stadium.

The Blackwell Maroons will make the drive east for a scrimmage at Woodland starting at this 6 p.m. According to Woodland Cougar Football on Facebook, this is a laundry soap/towel admission scrimmage. A table will be set up for donations, and Whey Protein Powder will also be accepted.

The Newkirk Tigers will head south for their scrimmage in Morrison at 6 p.m. You will need to bring your own lawn chairs if you’re going to watch.

Football will also take place in Tonkawa tonight, as the Bucs host Hominy and Oklahoma Union in a scrimmage. Like the Blackwell/Woodland scrimmage, this too will be a “Soap and Towel” scrimmage at 6:30.

The first high school football games will take place Sept. 3 and 4.
