With work being divided to different people, the task at hand seems small. Raising $1.4 million to expand and renovate the existing Ponca City Humane Society is a big task with much work already accomplished. Over $1 million of the campaign goal is either on deposit or pledged to complete the mission. PCHuS Board President Chuck Greenwood describes that the new shelter will be a special place where animals are saved where second chances are given, and people and animals of northern Oklahoma come together.
Greenwood also says that the humane society will become the animal welfare hub of northern Oklahoma while working with other shelters and rescue groups to help reduce the pet euthanasia in Kay County and surrounding communities. Stepping up to help reach the goal are the Ponca City Humane Society Board of Directors led by Greenwood ,Vice President Sue Boettcher, Treasurer Lisa Hinch, Secretary Travis Colson and directors Stacey Calderon, Marybeth Glass, Kylie Hein, Jonnette Shultz and Mike Trewitt.
